Greig Shaw

Director

Been involved in the AV industry longer than I care to remember. Studied sound and video engineering while specialising in production for recording and broadcasting. Started my career in Glasgow Caledonian University as an AV technician in the Media department. Moved on to work in large scale events at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre providing technical support to many conferences and shows. Quickly moved on to become a technical planner where I managed all aspects of technical design and tech staff. Worked as AV/Technical manager at Glasgow Science Centre where I was involved in all aspects of the installation of exhibits as well as managing the technical side of a busy events department.

Moved on to become a freelance installation engineer in 2006 when I started working with Access AV. Liked it so much I bought the company.

Like to cycle a lot, although I am really slow going up the hills but I’ll definitely catch you on the other side.

Love music and going to gigs – most folk don’t know that in a previous life I played the bagpipes to a pretty high level, I think my neighbours are quite happy I don’t play as often as I used to.

Kevin Hutton

Director

Dragged into the Industry via my Dad’s AV company kicking and screaming during the school holidays to earn some extra pocket money.

I was hooked by the variety of projects from the start and have picked up skills and industry qualifications along the way. I was freelance for a few years before starting full time with Access AV in 2014, We’ve come a long way as a company in the last 10 years and we’re looking forward to growing the company in the future.

I like that we are active over a large geographical area so I’ve worked in some amazing buildings all across Scotland over the years.
What I like most about AV is that it’s always changing, new products and technologies are launching all the time.

There is always a feeling of pride when we finish a project and see our design, installation and programming all coming together to enhance a space whether it’s a Museum, Boardroom or place of Worship that I don’t think you get in many other industries.

I like going to gigs, listening to and playing music, going to the beach with my family and the occasional beer. I’m recently getting back into playing golf.

Andrea Reilly

Accounts

Began my career with Access AV ten years ago and at that point this involved me coming in one day a week to take care of the bookkeeping side of the business.

Now employed doing a variety of office-based roles, providing support for our engineers, (chasing them up for receipts) and keeping our accounts in tip-top condition.

Busy home life with 4 boys, a grandson and our cockapoo Alfie – in my down time I enjoy going catching up with friends, (usually over an Aperol Spritz) going to concerts, walking and also going to the gym and tap dancing ( no, not on sinks )

Reece Reilly

Engineer

As an ex alarm engineer where my role was to work on intruder fire and CCTV systems. I made the change and have become an AV engineer where some of my skills have passed over such as working with networked systems. I started my career in February 2023, I am thoroughly enjoying every moment in this dynamic and exciting field. From helping to set up advanced audiovisual systems to troubleshooting technical issues and even knowing the best places to eat while out on sites, every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

The fast-paced nature of the AV industry keeps me engaged and motivated, constantly pushing me to learn and adapt to the latest innovations. I am truly passionate about my AV career and look forward to advancing further in this ever-evolving industry.
